Do you need to improve your grounding practices?

Do you need to improve your grounding practices?

To be honest, when I start these article series, I don’t usually know exactly where they will lead me. This installment in my series of grounding is really no different. And I think what happens in my creative process is that I am I actually following guidance and then learning how to ground and manifest that guidance.

As I lurk around the internet I hear a lot of talk about how to improve your intuitive or psychic skills, as if they were a tool one could sharpen or a physical exercise you could perfect. I have rarely found this to be the case in my own development. Sure there are things one can do to refine their intuitive process, like figuring out how best to record your hits when you’re getting them and learning to be really really objective about exactly what you got (not just the story or interpretation of it). But the real mastery work comes in mastering the relationship between soul and vessel. And before the fear voice takes hold, I do want to say that this needs to be a holistic and balanced relationship. It’s not about turning off your emotions to be enlightened or denying what you are feeling. Your feelings are every bit a piece of guidance as your intuitive hits are.

Feelings are earth plane intuitive hits rather than Divine Love hits.  They are essential to the grounding process.

In the last post I mentioned a concept I got from Caroline Myss’ “Anatomy of the Spirit“, below you’ll see my riff on this idea. When Guidance comes to us, it needs to travel through our body, both the physical and the energetic (it’s all one system, right?) in order to manifest. As we ground guidance, each energy point in our body is a gateway through which we test the piece of guidance to see if it’s even an option.

Grounding guidance through your body

My take on the process of grounding guidance or Divine Love, is this:

  • From Crown to root chakra we go through the process of beginning to believe this potential is within us and that it is possible, even necessary.
  • When the personalized Divine Love is brought into Earth it takes on more concrete energy, and a special kind of energy that will help give it weight and resonance in the physical world.
  • We take this transformed energy back into us, we can begin to see and understand the greater ramifications of giving birth in the physical world to such an idea, vision, or mission.
  • As this seed of destiny passes through each chakra on the way back up to birthing into our world, we begin to embody the energies needed for this task more and more. Each gateway will bring different healings/integrations/attunements to our sense of wholeness with this new version of us.
  • We when guidance is finally birthed in this world we are in a state of grace with the Divine. Clear, calm, fulfilled, but also ready to take on more guidance…perhaps even a bigger vision (because we’ve cleaned and cleared our energies and raised our vibe through the process of birthing guidance).

But sometimes we get stuck or stall in this process. Looking at the infographic above and thinking of my own guidance that is waiting to see if it will be birthed, I can tell you what at test I am stuck. I need to do more work with my lower chakras, aligning my senses of safety, pleasure, and personal will with my big vision.

Not all guidance will be brought to this world in this way. There are times when guidance enters my system, not to be birthed in and of itself, but to help raise my vibe in a certain way to help the bigger guidance move through my system. It’s like getting Divine course correction. Each attitude, mood, or feeling I am experiencing is then extremely important guidance. My feelings guide me to know what kind of work I should be doing with my energy and mindset in order to birth or manifest my vision or dream. In my example, I have to do a lot of work to release my fears and blocks about becoming overrun with stress and responsibility (becoming so uncentered I need to stop and rest) which are giving my lower chakra some trouble. But, of course, the Universe always has my back, and I can think of some present circumstances that are definitely going to help me work on some of those blocks!

Take a body test with me!

Take ten minutes or so and get into a quiet place. Let your mind and body relax and then evoke the energies of the last real big piece of guidance you got, but seem stuck with. Just sit quietly giving yourself love and observing what is going on your body when you think of this dream or vision you were given.

  • What place in your body are giving you feelings and sensations?
  • What energy centers seems to be growing or shrinking?
  • What fears or hurts come to mind? Where are those feelings located in your body?
  • What parts of your body are tense?

How does grounding work?

how does grounding work

As we are coming into the next part of our grounding series, I want to point out that my ideas about grounding are not average, nor traditional. I would like to this of my ideas as the next step, or advanced grounding. According to most traditional sources grounding is the co-mingling of our energy with the Earth, which help to relieve stress, anxiety, energy overload, and to keep us balanced between Earth and Heavenly energies. If we become too airy, too full of exuberance, thoughts, inspiration, we are told to ground those energies out and maintain balance and equilibrium.

But this isn’t exactly what I’m finding in my own explorations of grounding from a space of embodied soul. I want take a closer look at the mechanics of what seems to be happening from my perspective. My first step is to center. And if you haven’t read anything else by me, you can see my take on centering here.

To sum up it up though, for me centering is allowing Soul back into body, to be in holistically in alignment, so that our natural power, Wisdom, Love, and Presence can flow freely. Infrequently does this happen without some adjustments and energy work. I literally loosen up any dark or slower moving places within me, find the root, love up the root, and with love, raise the vibe in those denser energy places so they mostly in sync with everything else. Looking at what I just said though, it implies I am adding different qualities of love to my being just to steady things out. Centering is what steadies my being out. Not grounding.

Once I’m steadily flowing, then I ground. I take the Divine energies (some I had to consciously apply, others I woke up experiencing), which have now co-mingled with my bodily energies, and I allow it flow to that sweet spot at the center of the Earth. As the energies co-mingle with the Earth energies they begin to take on weight and substance. I experience that a certain quality of energy is added to the mix which allows these energies to acquire a more Earthly form…something that can actually create ripple through our reality. I don’t necessarily know the form it will take, speech, writing, organization. But these energies somehow become more real and part of my reality once they have been Earthed. At this point they come back up in my vessel, ready to be used.

But now hold a minute…

chakras

I didn’t give my energy to Earth, not unless I specifically thought to bless it. When I took energies into Earth, Earth didn’t just strip away the energy or it’s intention. In fact, it seemed to refine it and give it more umph. So…Earth added energy to the mix. This isn’t exactly what tradition explains how grounding should go. While traditional knowledge doesn’t give me much help here, my mind does recall someone else talking about this.

Carolyn Myss, famed New Age healing guru, explained this exact scenario in the “Anatomy of Spirit” as the process of manifesting our Divine Works on the Earthly Plane. In fact, in that book she charts out the course Divine Energy takes through our chakras to become grounded and ultimately manifest!!! Okay, more on that next week, in my future blog of “How to Improve you grounding practices”.

Grounding isn’t just connecting with the Earth, it’s an essential step in the manifestation process.

Grounding isn't just connecting with the Earth, it's an essential step in the manifestation process. Click To Tweet

This is is HUGE!!

When I add Divine energy to my own, and then ground it, I am manifesting the qualities of love I intuited I needed…the world needed. I am literally grounding my own reality. By extension, every time I center and ground, I am also choosing a new future, a future where I have everything I need.

grouding is manifestation: the universe is responding to who you think you are

Trippy, right?

What I do know about these energies, is that we are their host, partners in crime, so to speak. But they are not really personal to us. This is our personal method of tapping into something greater than us. The more each of us ground the energies we need to feel well and whole, the more reality changes, and more of these energies will be available on this plane. The more in oneness we have the ability to become. I’ll make no guess as to how that will exactly be. I’m not even sure it’s healthy to guess at such things. All I really know is that coming into Oneness, grounding these energies, feels good. For the longest time I didn’t think feeling good like that on a daily basis was possible.

Grounding is one of the essential practices of manifesting Heaven on Earth, or at least our own personal Heavens. No external world changes happen without first centering and grounding a high vibe within our personal sphere of influence and reality. For me, the easiest, path of least resistance method, of making all that happen is through feeling. Centering and grounding feels amazing to me, it changes my reality for the better because it leaves me feeling so good I just want to keep doing it.

Let me know in the comments, lovely lightworker:

What feeling states do you need to manifest?

What do you think would feel so good, you wouldn’t want to stop feeling that way?

How would being in that feeling state change your reality?

What is Grounding?

What is grounding

We’ll be talking all about the practice of Grounding this month. You’re in for a treat because the guidance I received about grounding is not only timely to 2016 end of year but it’s such a twist, so different from what you would expect that it will leave you wondering what you thought you knew before. I’m not here to totally redefine everything you thought you knew about the basics. But I think these deeper dives into how the basics actually work are inspired by all the shifts and waves of awakenings that are happening.

It’s not the practices are changing, but we are called to understand our very nature and intuitive instincts on a much more soul deep level. Soon enough I don’t think it’s going to be enough to get by on what we used to know, the world is changing so fast and so fundamentally with each awakening that we all need to anchor in these new energies as soon as we can. And that my brilliant bright lights, is the very nature of grounding.

Traditional view of grounding: An exercise, usually a form of meditation, that helps one move excess spiritual energy from the body to the Earth to promote a sense of calmness and serenity. Sometimes this is done through other activities like taking a walk, sex, or even eating.

New Idea around Grounding: Taking in Divine Energies and making them manifest here in the Earth plane.

Grounding: Taking in Divine Energies and making them manifest here in the Earth plane. Click To Tweet

Before I sat down and began downloading the guidance around grounding for this month, I still wrestled with the idea of grounding being, essentially, plugging one’s self into Earth and letting energy flow back up and out. Yes, on a very basic level that is what seemed to be happening. Yet my big question was what energy are we actually get rid of and why is there to begin with?

So I poked around in some groups online to see what the consensus was. It seemed like most people’s idea of grounding revolved around ridding ones self of negativity and anxiety and also recharging the system.

But isn’t that basically cleansing? In most metaphysical books, grounding, centering, and cleansing three entirely separate practices?! Most times in books, authors tell you to ground after doing energy  work, ritual, and so forth because you might have taken in too much energy during your practice. There is this underlying belief here that “too much” energy can make us feel flighty, anxious, and restless. This says nothing about grounding be a cleansing practice. This line of thinking was getting me questions than answers. And what does “too much energy” actually mean?

Is grounding only about ridding ourselves of negativity, depression, anxiety, or excess energies?

I don’t think so.

What is this “too much energy” we all experience that we need these practices for? If we can experience this “too much energy” state after ritual, energy work, or even while we’re in the creative flow, isn’t what we’re talking about Divine energy?

And Divine energy isn’t just a force, like electricity. It’s an intelligent, conscious wave. It’s love and wisdom, and all good things rolled into one…and we can’t have too much of that??? We can certainly have more than we are used to from the baseline of a given day. But can we really have too much Love?? For a person who comes from an energy medicine background, to me, this is like asking can a fish take in too much water! Turns out a fish can’t drown in regular water. I can only drown in water that doesn’t have enough oxygen in it, so when something is off about the H2O mix. Otherwise a fish is good to whatever is going on in the ocean around it, just as we normally do in the oceans of energy we live in.

There is also an underlying belief behind the idea of traditional grounding, which implies that spiritual people should not experience highs or lows. That highs and lows are s not natural in a sense and can even be harmful. This isn’t truth though, this is perfectionism at work. It’s ego thinking, not Divine wisdom. We can’t consistently live from a high or low state, we end up burning out or bottoming out. But certainly our capacity to feel and hold high and low vibes state would ebb and flow, just like everything else in the Universe, right?

Are you saying I shouldn’t try to get rid of negativity or feeling bad?

Yes and no. I’m of the the mind that all feelings are sacred messages. Even anxiety and depression. They are naturally occurring things that happen to being of light who have bodies on this plane. These experiences are part of collective, part of our Oneness. I don’t think one should hold onto or give special significance to a random experience of depression or anxiety, sometimes it’s a fleeting thing. It’s when we have cyclical patterns of these feelings, that makes ego stand up and ask the big question “what’s wrong with us?”

That’s ego’s job. It asks the questions that will keep us alive. But all it really is, is an alarm system alerting us there could be a potential threat…could be. We need that alarm system, even if it’s a little overzealous at times. So why are we trying to give it away? Shouldn’t be learning more how to turn the alarm system back to maintenance mode when we realize we aren’t actually dying this very second? You don’t chuck your smoke detector because it goes off after you’ve burned dinner. You simply silence the alarm for the time being.

But we think all those feels MEAN something really important, and so we hold on them. We poke at them, analyze them to death. But we never seem to get around to simply turning the ringer off or adjusting the alarm sensitivity. I think we do what we do because we don’t like how depression and anxiety feel, and that we’re just trying to stabilize, so I’m certainly not picking on anyone. But what would happen if we learned more about how to work that alarm system?

So why was grounding so important and what is it exactly??

Most times when we are using a recorded meditation all these practices we’re talking about are all combined into one easy to use tool, the recording itself.  We’re flowing from one practice to the other without really thinking about it. Most modern meditations will use relaxation and opening to the light to center and clear. Centering and Cleansing are what really help us through negativity and anxiety. When we come to center, hear and feel soul and it’s guidance, be in that love state, then fear-base thinking evaporates. And once we have clarity, from centering, about what feelings and energies are actually our own, we can effectively do our cord cuttings and white light love purges of things we might have picked up and held on to but weren’t authentic to us.

Through centering and cleansing we get tapping into on the wisdom and love of Guidance, Soul, Guides, Higher self, Truth the Universe, Divinity…however you think of it.

And guidance can’t live only within our brains and energy fields forever.

Guidance’s ultimate destiny is to be shared. If we don’t embrace it, it moves on to someone who is ready to act and move with it or we are stuck in a repeating pattern till we embrace it.

And in order to be shared, in needs to come through our system and enter the Earth plane…it needs to be grounded. WE don’t need to be grounded Earth, we are of Earth, already within it’s energies. The Divine Guidance needs to be rooted and anchored into this physical world. It needs to be made manifest, to be turned into something “real”. This isn’t always done through meditation, sometimes the only real way to ground that energy is to take inspired action.

grounding through inspired action

To bring this back down the practical, my loves…

What it it that is dying to come out of when we get into center?

What ideas and inspiration keep coming back to you when you center?

What will you ground into the Earth plane i order to make a little Heaven on Earth?

Staying grounded in a whirlwind of inspiration

BestSelf-e1377554016803

Whether you call them downloads, hits, or inspiration, it can be tough to stay grounded and centered when in the middle of psychic receiving. When I started with my first intuitive coach, I had asked her “How can you not want to run towards that beauty, towards those amazing feelings?” I feel like for most of my life I had been chasing them, even trying to force them at times.

Don’t forget to check out my video tip on staying grounded in the whirlwind of inspiration!

But my coach asked me…

Where is there to run to? Isn't it all inspiration there within you already? Click To Tweet

It was at that point that I began to feel my resistance to coming to center, and the sacred stillness there begin to melt. All that inspiration was always here, just waiting for me to still enough, centered enough, receptive enough to receive it. It had been me that had been doing the running, chasing, pushing, not the wisdom.

It was at that point I knew the importance of the dance we do in our creative and intuitive processes, of opening and then grounding, rinse and repeat in order to gain greater clarity into the wisdom that is there for us to receive.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you if it seems like these flow stop and start on their own. We tend to lose sight of the fact that these things are cyclical, ebbing and flowing. Yet we can come into a greater understanding of these flows, so we know how and when to best to tap them, without having to push, contrive, or otherwise manipulate our flows. The goal here should be a harmonious process that we can tap when we need to, being a willing participant in the ebbs and flows.

Dealing with high energies like eclipses and retrogrades

Dealing with high energies like eclipses and retrogrades

With the high energies from this last week, like many other sensitives out there, I just couldn’t seem to get a grip on myself. Old issues, old words, judgments against myself swirled through my head day and night. And for no particular cause and effect reason. And I was utterly exhausted from the tumultuous night-time forays into my past. I was sorely tempted to be more than a little grumpy.

I will say this upfront I don’t believe the Universe gives us things or circumstances to make us suffer. And I will also say that each of these periods of time have different effects. Listening to resources like Elizabeth Peru or Mystic Mama can give you an idea of the types of themes that might get visited during each of these high energy periods.

Let’s take a quick example here, Mercury appears to go retrograde every couple of months. It varies in length. Generally speaking, Mercury in retrograde t means there will be less than direct energy in the realms of communication and travel. Does it mean awful things will happen to you? No more than any other time. Does it mean you will get into a fight or miss your flight, maybe. But those could happen at any other time as well. It does mean that if you have issues or triggers around communication you will be given chances to recognize it and clear it. Maybe you need to learn to speak your needs, stand up for yourself, or get clarity on why you always seem to feel misunderstood.

We are being called to act from our deepest selves, vulnerable, and be in-choice about our decisions. Speak your Truth. Click To Tweet

I know when things seem to go wrong, we want to let our most immediate reaction lead. We want to yell, scream, sigh in frustration, or stomp around the house while we look for our phones, trying to get the car to start, or calling the cable company because the internet is on the fritz.

But I want you to realize something.

Just recognizing this state of off-ness is the point where you need to think about going to take a bubble bath or grabbig a novel, instead of pushing forward with anything serious.

It’s during times, when the whole world seems more chaotic than usual, that we fall back into a bad habits. We think that we have done something wrong, it must be us, maybe we’re being punished. We want to react badly, chuck our good intentions out the window, because we don’t actually believe we are enough, able to cope without falling apart, and/or things won’t go our way unless we make it go our way. But isn’t it funny how the printer always seems to break when we are rushing to get something done or during a retrograde?  Or is that we are already operating under duress and aren’t able to get into a flow state that would help us get around small problems? It’s the thinking, the fear, that is driving this. Planetary bodies can break printers.

Mercury did not come down and take sledge hammer to your printer. Not psychically, not cosmically, not even as an allegory!

What I usually find when shifting back to this a Soul-centered state is just how hard I’ve been pushing my agenda on the Universe. I wasn’t in flow, like I thought I was. When we’re coming a low vibe, that pushing or controlling of our flow state actually begins to impair our ability to flow rather quickly. The more drained and discouraged we feel, the more off we get and into fear or insecurity. The further from Soul and center, the faster the downward spiral.

But our thoughts and plans that’s all simply expectation and conjecture. Our wounded inner child having a fit because it’s afraid of feeling hurt.  Ego, our potential threat alarm system, doesn’t actually know if there is a threat or not. All it really knows is that we are feeling upset and there must be a reason. So it makes all sorts of guesses as to why that could be. The truth, however, lies in integrating Soul into your daily living and into your problem solving.  Preferably before we take the sledge hammer to the printer!

From a higher perspective, the soul perspective, the realm of energy, the first step to healing is always the same. Relax and go back to center. Click To Tweet

Pin me!

And that is the gift of the high energy periods we have throughout the year.  Soul-self is being strengthened so that we can more easily see how we’ve allowed our wounded inner children to run our lives. In the daily grind of things, our connection with Soul can get muddled. During the high energy periods, Soul brought into our awareness. That transition feels chaotic to us because our inner children don’t understand why we can’t give them the reigns again, at least at first. The tantrum our inner children might throw may seem more exaggerated because Soul is trying to put things back into perspective. The gift in these high vibe times, also comes in learning to love into that fear and love our inner wounded child. On the surface this may sound just another call for more self TLC, but this goes deeper.

We have spent many years in self-abusive judgment patterns, layers upon layers of shame and guilt. The high energies times are working to strip away these layers. It might seem uncomfortable, we may get triggered. But once we understand what’s being worked on and what fear-based beliefs challenged, the process becomes more natural. When we are able to love our fears for what they are, simple messages about where we need more love in our lives, then there is no struggle or resistance to these high-energy times. These retrogrades, eclipses, and other astrological events become miraculous and healing.

Divinely Aligned Vlog: March 8th why high energies might not feel so good

high energies vlog

Ok, first of all I promise to remember to turn off my notifications next time I vlog! So sorry about the interruptions, I’m still getting the hang of the doing of the tech.

But onward or upward, I wanted to be me in the moment for this series, so this is what you get! You get me leaning against the window in my bedroom to catch the wonderful blue skies outside.

So what’s important about today and today’s message, well it’s one of those high energy days. It’s coming into a super new moon, we’re coming into eclipse energy, and we’re having a master day today. And what all those high energies, you would expect to be feeling pretty darn good, right?

That’s not always the case. If we are not in our truth, our most Divine self, that high energy might hit you like a brick wall. You might even feel a little flu-ish or completely flustered. Watch the latest vlog to get some ideas about how you might get more in-flow with the day and high energies.

Focusing when there’s a thousand things on my plate: kicking overwhelm in the butt

f17341dac5584e46ef6fd0d744d3c212

At the beginning of this year, I should have been suffering massive overwhelm. I had been in the middle of a huge business mindset class, beginning to re-brand Super Secret Powers, keeping up with all the daily stuff, and traveling to an hour  (both ways) 3-4 days out of the week to visit a loved one in the hospital. My relationship to overwhelm before that time had been one of sulking resignation. Being sensitive, I took on my own overwhelm and the overwhelm and frustration around, making any period of overwhelm absolutely miserable for me and everyone around me. I always seemed to hit a chunk of overwhelm and slowly grind to halt and hating on the fact that, yet more thing, didn’t work out. It didn’t matter how excited I had been about doing something, the moment I hit a bit of friction in the journey to get something done I took it as a signal that it was’t going to work out. After years of stress and worry and craziness, I think I have finally nipped overwhelm in the butt!!!

Now overwhelm can be overwhelming and there are a few different ways one can feel overwhelm, so for this post let’s just talk about the ack of too many things and not enough time. You might hate me for this post, rail against me saying “that coach doesn’t understand my life, it’s complicated!” But bear with me, I didn’t think this mindset would work when I first heard it either. So let’s do this quick, like pulling a band aid off!

Overwhelm is a total and utter lie we tell ourselves when we are experiencing self doubt. Click To Tweet

It’s when we are saying:

  • I don’t think I can do this
  • I don’t know if I can handle this
  • How I am supposed to do all this

The thing all these statements have in common is that they are focused on some aspect of not knowing and doubt about enoughness. We experience these doubts when we aren’t sure we have enough, are enough, or can be enough do deal with life according to our expectations. It’s a clarity problem and it’s an expectations problem, and rarely doesn’t it say or mean anything about our intrinsic value (not matter what our wounded egos are freaking out about). Our intrinsic value has nothing to do with the things we are unclear about. We are not unlimited beings, we’re mortal after all, but we are Souls connected to Divine Source. For me this came to a huge realization that when it came to mindset and HOW I was capable of being, that I was only as limited as my mind (wounded ego or 8 yr old inner me) told me I was. I still had the same 24 hours, after all. Nothing about time had changed from one day to the next. Only my thinking had changed.

I believe that emotions are signals our soul uses to tell when we’re in center and of center, in sync with the world or out of sync. Overwhelm is certainly a signal of being out of center and out of sync. But I don’t think I was interpreting it the right way before, I think I was taking it way too personally (which is a hallmark trait of a sensitive person, btw). Overwhelm wasn’t/isn’t telling me or you that we need to stop what we’re doing, it’s asking to get more clear on the “why” of it all. I was committed to seeing these things through. In my case, I didn’t have the option of not doing these things. I spent the money for the class. I chose to make my loved one a big priority. I knew needed to make some changes to how I was going about business building. I was committed. If you’re not committed, then it’s to figure out what it is you CAN commit to and believe we can find a way through. If you are not committed to one end point or another, then no amount of good why’s is going to get you much further. Overwhelm asks to dig deeper, to go into some uncharted or maybe a little scary emotional waters. It asks us to explore our actual capabilities, not just what we think we are capable of. That takes a sense of committed to the adventure of the journey before us to navigate in a emotionally healthy way. One can play commitment leap frog to begin making progress, giving a little faith, a little attention to one small commitment, to see where it goes. But in order to overcome more weighty obstacles, one needs to build up the commitment steam and momentum before they give the big hill a go.

And it helped to get really really specific about what it is that we’re feeling lacking over. Is it really time? Or is it space to breathe and think? Is it about actually doing something, or is it a fear of getting frustrated and further into overwhelm? When we are in overwhelm we are not getting or giving ourselves the time and support we need in order to be in a good place to deal with the tasks ahead. The whole cycle of overwhelm is based on doubt, but then as we decline in feeling well, because we’re so stressed out, we take that some sort of sign.

Overwhelm was never meant to be a stop or slow sign. We don’t necessarily need to “do less” or even “simply”.

Overwhelm means we need to get clear on what actually matters. Click To Tweet

For me, during that really intense period back in January, I doubted that I pull it all off without getting sick, without stressing out, and without freaking out. I took the time to figure out what needed to improve to make my fears and doubt a non-issue. I was afraid of getting sick (and therefore being miserable) so I got more serious about my supplements and wellness routines (couldn’t have done any of it without my essential oils). So now I had the energy to tackle what I needed to tackle, but there were lingering doubts of how I wouldn’t let irritability or fear insert it’s control. I had to really sit back and set some large core desired feeling state goals for this time period. In all the traveling and reinvention of my business, I wanted it feel joyful and loving. I needed to be on the ball for the visits, for the class, for the homework, and for the dreaming into what my new messaging could be. I knew those were my focal points, but I knew I didn’t want to push way through them either. Sure some stuff got put on back burners and I was tired after long and full days, but with my wellness and feelings of security and joy in the forefront, that whole crazy period felt magickal. And it wasn’t the arrangement of appointments, the weather, the little actions that happened that made that time “good” or “bad”. What made the difference was that I recognized what I felt was missing, the things in me that doubt was speaking to, and built a better self care routine, to that I had the energy, emotional space, and clarity in order to keep moving forward.

There is also a lot to be said about acceptance in this. When I knew how I wanted to feel during this, I was able to drop the pity me kind of stories that might have put up resistance to being open and flexible. Staying in joy, also meant that I needed to untroubled, in a state of receptivity to the what the moment brings. And in that I also saw how each and every moment, the only place we actually LIVE from, is the perfect place to be, to begin from, to say YES to. It would only be my fears and self doubt that made me think that each moment is not part of the flow of all that is around me, that I was somehow out of sync. And that is the lie we all believe from time to time, that we are not part of the whole.
